Our Program Schedule

We have received many compliments regarding our program schedule. It may sound random, but actually, it is organized. Our BLOCK scheduling mainly consist of Top 40 Oldies from the 50s, 60s and 70s, but we mix in many other formats to keep the music from getting boring and to play some of the songs that many people have not heard in years or have not heard at all! We also offer local musical talent airtime.

In addition to our weekly programming listed above, below is a list of special programming heard every weekend on W-E-A-K Radio.

Saturday 9 am to 11 am - Bill Salmi plays the music that was before the oldies

Saturday 11 am to Noon - Big Band Sounds

Saturday Noon to 1 pm - Bluegrass

Saturday 6 pm to 7 pm - Jimbo's Cruise-In Show

Saturday 7 pm to 9 pm - Chucko's Rarest of the Rare Show (Chucko highlights RARE oldies and Doo-Wop)

Saturday 9 pm to 11:00 pm - Mike's Music Vault

Sunday 8 am to Noon - Bonnie's Gospel Show

Sunday 7 pm to 9 pm - Repeat of Chucko's Rarest of the Rare Oldies Show

Sunday 9 pm to 10:10 pm - Motown Memories

Letters and Testimonials:

I love your new radio station and it's programing of oldie's music 24/7 you bring back a lot of memories. Keep up the good program!!!! I listened to it come on the air at 8:30 the other night.

Dan

Good job you two. I only listen to your station now coming into work. Keep up the good work. Pat and Doug

Just a short note to congratulate you on WEAK-LP. I work in Athens and really enjoy the station. I'm employed by the Southeast Ohio EMS District as the Station Chief for Athens. I live in Wellston and can pick up your station on Route 32 near Route 689 near the Athens/Meigs County line. There's a little fading and multipath between 689 and Albany, but very strong all the way into Athens.

I am an aspiring LPFM operator for Wellston, but wasn't ready to go during the original filing window. If we ever see another LPFM filing, I'm trying for 102.3 MHz or 102.9 MHz to do an oldies format similar to yours. In any case, keep up the great work. Love the station and the music. You've proven that LPFM can truly be a success.

Rick

I have not turned your station "off" since I turned it "on".....WOW!!!! What terrific music selections......keep up the great work. I tell everyone I see about your station.

Debra

I read about WEAK in A-News and Messenger. Signal comes in decently over here on Angel Ridge if I rotate the boom box and antenna just right.

Your music is fantastic. The composite tunes I just heard about 11:15pm tonight was awesome. The Ad Council stuff is nice too.

You're doing a very classy job. I plan to send in a contribution to help you recoup some of your costs (hope I don't forget).

Ken

The best thing about your station is little talking. We already have a couple "folksy" stations around, make yours different. The weather might be nice to hear every once in while.

Sharon H.

We just wanted you to know how very much we are enjoying "Union Station"! You are taking us down "memory Lane" everyday and it's so much fun bopping around to this great music - Our Music.

We really thank all of you for all of your hard work to get the station up and running.

We feel you are bringing REAL ENJOYMENT to MANY, MANY listeners.

Thank you and keep on sending out the "groovy" waves.

Congrats---

Linda and Phil

Your website is great! I look forward to hearing your music as soon as I can find it on the radio dial at work. Keep up the good work guys!

Opal from Pickerington, OH

Someone told me about your station. I tuned in and I just couldn't believe it! You have a wonderful station! Now I listen to it all day long.

I used to listen to WOUB-FM, but when they changed from classical to whatever they have now, I quit. I thought I was destined to a silent world. But your station has changed all that.

I live on Lavelle Road and I have great receptionl because I am just a stone's throw from your transmitter.

I love the selection of music. It is never boring, never predictable. Keep up the good work! Thanks!

Dale

Great Stuff! You have replaced that other non-profit station as my favorite spot on the dial. How can I help? Thanks and keep up the good work.

Jim

Great programming, guys! Thanks very much.

Rich

Hi! I picked up your station driving through Union the other day and haven't changed the channel yet - thanks for bringing back many fond memories from my youth! I will be happy to contribute to your cause, please let me know how to do so. Thanks.

Scott

Richard and Jim,

Congratulations! WEAK, 106.7 FM is a reality and entertaining the Athens listeners twenty-four hours a day.

You've done a great job. The variety of music and production mix well together. The singing clock gives the station a unique sound. It all sounds very professional. Other oldies stations become boring quickly, but WEAK leaves the listener in anticipation--what's coming next? They won't want to turn it off.

You've put a lot of time and money into this project, and I'm happy for both of you.

As a marathon listener to both f.m. and a.m. radio, I don't think I've ever heard an obscure 50's doo-wop tune wedged between Steve Miller and Ray Stevens! Great format!

Eric

I'm back where I've always been when I listen to all those old memories - some long forgotten. The 50's - 60's are still here. Wish we could go back with all our friends; swimming, record hops, walking home from the show & Elvis when WE were new!

Never stop! We didn't know what we had. Thanks for bringing it back - if only in our dreams!

A Constant New Listener

What a great radio station! I haven't heard any repeats yet!

Hoping for a stronger signal all the way to Amesville!

Beverly

I've been meaning to write for quite a while. I've been listening almost from the beginning. Your station has filled the void left when the other "non-commercial" dropped classical music from it's programming.

Thanks for providing non-commercial radio with music as it's main offering. I do enjoy the media news reports, also!

Hi Guys!

We really enjoy your station, so here's a little help. Keep up the fine work!

W E A K - What great call letters!

Bob & Bonnie

Jim and Richard:

This is just a note to let you know HOW MUCH we enjoy your radio station - we listen to it at home and in the car. Also, thanks so much for playing selections from our two CDs! It's wonderful to get some 'air time' in Athens for a change.

Thanks again!!!

Karen Bump for Home Remedy

Great Programming, Guys!

Guys: Have enjoyed the daylights out of WEAK. My son had it as a preset on his truck and now it's on my wagon!

Doug B.

The Groeneveld family enjoys and supports WEAK Radio. Turn it up!

Kirk Groeneveld

Keep up the good work. Suzanne and I really enjoy listening to the station!

Fred W.

Thats the only radio done like that anymore. Its all gone. My compliments for having a station that really cares about keeping our music and memories going. Most guys would just stumble around but you are marching to the beat.

Regards, Chuck

I seldom have a radio on at work, but I have mashed, shimmied, and twisted my way through a bill paying snowy day listening to WEAK radio! Happy Anniversary!

Mac & Bec

You do a great job and I love listening to your station! Been listening since you first came on the air last year.

Thanks!

Ken E.

Hi! My husband and I listen to your music every day! - WE LOVE IT! and we want to help you keep going!

Georgia & Dave

Keep up the EXCELLENT work @ WEAK! You are doing an outstanding job and we LOVE the music! Much nostalgia!

Regards, Rob & Ruth Ann

You are doing a great service to the area! I grew up near New York City and listened to the likes of Cousin Brucie on 77 WABC and Murry the K and his swingin' soiree on 1010 WINS - NY. Where else could I have heard such bon mots as 'rub my belly with linseed oil, and wrap my head with aluminum foil?'

Thanks for the music - keep it up!

The Boy from New York City

I enjoy your music while I work during my busy tax season. Keep up the great work!

Dave M

Keep up the great music! Sally and I are really enjoying your station!

Bob ?

Great Site!!!!! Great station-I love doo-wop. I have a 105 song collection of doo-wop.

Don P.

I am a former Athens resident and while visiting with my sister for the past six weeks I have immensely enjoyed your radio station. There is nothing like the "oldies" for enjoyable and memorable listening.

I just wish we had a station with your format in Lexington. Va.

Myrdith Sherow

Habitat for Humanity is very grateful to your for arranging the music for our recent BBQ Bash. Your selections were certainly right for our crowd, and having the music added a fine atmosphere to our gathering. And you couldn't have made it more convenient for us. We hope all those people who turned our for the Bash are now tuning in to station WEAK.

We were pleased with the setting for the Bash and the turnout as well. We netted a little over $1500.00, all of which will go toward construction oof our next house. We begin construction on September 13 at a site in Coolville. I am sure our partner family there will be grateful for your contributions. We enjoyed your music a great deal and hope we will have a chance to work with you again.

Best,

Danny Moates

Congratulations on the very impressive spread in The Athens Messenger. I think a number of people enjoyed your presentation at Downtown Athens Kiwanis a copule of week ago, too. I hope things continue to come together for you and this project. There are so many folks in the community who enjoy WEAK that I am confident it's popularity will not wane for years to come.

Sincerly your,

L. Alan Goldsberry

I love your station. I would love to hear more 'soul music' - Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, etc. Also, I love the Beatles and the Association.

Please Play 'Ooh, Baby, Baby' by Smokey Robinson for me.

I listen to your station all the time when I'm in my car.

Barbara W.

Gentlemen:

I love your format. Mainly, no news. I can get news anytime on every other station, but yours. That's unique! Keep it up.

I wish this check was bigger. I can't pay what it is worth to me.

Margeret

Thanks for the great music! I especially like your spoof advertisements - Spatula Warehouse always makes me laugh.

Peace

Hi Guys:

This may be old news to you, but I just learned that WCBS-FM in New York City abruptly changed its format on June 4, 2005. A mainstay of oldies radio since 1972, it was decided that the station needed to appeal to the under 30 crowd. This was, of course, a decision by Infinity Broadcasting who - along with Clear Channel - are destroying diversity in radio. No more Beatles or Beach Boys or Four Seasons. Hello hip-hop and Brittney Spears. Ugh!

Thank God for you guys! And thank you for the kind words you broadcast about me after your profile in Messenger appeared. I have been meaning to thank you.

Best wishes,

David D.

Thank You - your FM station is a joy to listen to!

Marge S.

Here's another donation to help keep you on the air.

Should you choose to recognize us on air, last name is Fales, phonetically like fails or sales. Stated in 'Chucko' styly - get it right, you knuckleheads~ Ha!

Seriously, thanks for all your good work. Love the station!

Jim and Sharon

I attended school at OU Athens 10 years ago. I come back once a year to look around and see what it's like now and that's when I came across your radio station. I like the oldies music you play because it's different and unique from what is being played over and over again on the corporate mass produced commercial radio stations. I look forward to returning next year and hearing your music programming again.

Keith from Portland, Maine.

Hey Guys!

Thanks for the year of fun, and good luck for another year!

Bob & Bonnie

On behalf of the Alexander Lions Club 30th Annual Heritage Show, I would like to express our appreciation for the support provided by WEAK radio. The public relations that you have provided, will greatly assist in the efforts being put forth to rebuild the show. It is our desire to bring our community to a greater awareness of the history and heritage, of which we can all take great pride. Stepping back in time is just one of those ways that we can better move forward into the future.

Sincerely, Tom O'Brien

Immediate Past President

Alexander Lions Club

We very much enjoy your programming on W-E-A-K.

I appreciate your adding some big band era music to your daily programming throughout the week.

We want to assist you with your expenses with a small contribution. I hope someday you'll be able to increase your station power, but in the meantime, keep up the good work in providing a station that plays the good old oldies, and gospel programming.

God Bless You!

Chuck and wife.

Kindly accept the enclosed small cheritable amount. If I had a thousand dollars, I would have donated five hundred to you.

Keep up the great work! Your station is the very best in the U.S.

R.K.M.

Thank you for your very enjoyable music!!

I'll place the static cling window sticker on my van, when I return to Athens in the spring.

M.S.

Hey,Gents..great show every day ..every one loves your sound and variety..thanks..

Jim and Dick:

Thank you for the great music!

Richard, I was just reading the general coments section of "Reel to Reel radio" (Uncle Ricky). Chris (Joos?) mentioned your station as an example of how top 40 stations used to sound like. PS: My contribution is in the mail.

Dave Montenaro

We are enjoying your radio station very much...and thank you for starting it up in our area!

Connie B.

Hey! I just started listening to your station. It is great! You guys are putting out some of the most interesting radio in the area. Thanks for being here.

Please send me a window sticker so I can proudly display it on my car.

Thanks again.

John L. From Nelsonville.

We love WEAK radio!!! You have made a lot of ordinary days extra-ordinary days. Thanks!!! I first heard your station while in the dentist chair and as soon as I got to my car I set the station to WEAK. I have been listening ever since. I would love to display one of your window decals in my car. Everyone should try taking a break from the ordinary crowd and join the WEAK crowd.

Sharon B.

I first heard weako radio in my dentists chair. It made a horriffic dentist visit like a trip to pleasure and. I went out to my car to set my radio to weako, and couldnt get it. Now I live full time at my dentists office, so I can listen to weako radio all the time. I feel so good after listening to weak radio, I have quit having psychopathic symptoms, and will be applying for astronaut school at OU!

Athens Al.

Just wanted to drop a note. I really love Mike\'s vault on Saturday nights. Great couple hours of awesome music. Great addition to weak radio.

Brian

Hope the enclosed check helps a little! Keep on playing the old time GOOD music!

R.A.T

Dear Mr. Whitmore

Athens is most fortunate to have the very best of music twenty four hours a day. In fact, over ninety percent of the time, I'm gleefully tuned into WEAK - whenever I listen to the radio.

And I firmly believe there is no other station of WEAK's calibre across the nation, for I have listened to oldies stations in Calamazoo, Michigan, and one or two such in Washington, D.C. None are comparable in variety, fineness, and entertainment to Athens' WEAK.

Congratulations and keep up the excellent work!

Sincerely, Raj
